On Friday our class talked about ways to help animals that adapt to our area. One way to help the birds is to create a simple bird feeder. Students spread peanut butter onto a rice cake and sprinkled it with bird seed. These bird feeders will provide food for the birds, especially since our ground is now covered by lots of snow and food is hard to find. Students also learned that once you start feeding these animals you must continue because they will depend on the food you provide.

Animals In Winter Day 3
Our class talked about how animals adapt to their surroundings in Winter today. We learned that some animals grow thicker fur to keep warm and look for shelter in tree holes and under leaves. The fur of some rabbits change color to help them hide from other animals that may want to eat them. Check out our video about Animals That Adapt In Winter!
